VISIT US ON BUTCHER ROW, SHREWSBURY
COUNTY GOLDSMITHS love antique jewellery and the history behind each piece, so it is befitting that we are based in such a historic part of such a picturesque market town. As the name suggests, Butcher Row was once full of butcher’s shops and the street was dedicated to the local meat trade for an impressive 600 year period, from the late 1200s to the early 1800s. At the end of Butcher Row, you will see the very iconic and beautiful Abbots House which dates back to the 1600s Jacobean period, where butchers would go to sell their goods over the counter. It is one of the oldest timber framed houses in Shrewsbury making it one of the town’s showpiece buildings.
Experiencing COUNTY GOLDSMITHS is like taking a step back in time… Make your experience memorable by visiting the gourmet restaurants, the charming tea rooms and the modern cocktail and coffee bars that are situated here on Butcher Row. We encourage our visitors to make the most of their visit to Shrewsbury, especially if they have come just to visit our store. The food and drink in our local area is simply divine!
VISIT US ON THE HIGH STREET, LUDLOW
Here at County Goldsmiths we like the locations of our stores to reflect our own ethos, which is why Ludlow – one of Shropshire’s most attractive towns is such a neat fit. Our welcoming shop is conveniently positioned on the High Street, which itself holds a wealth of history quite aside from our treasures.
This medieval market town offers architectural delights within it, along with the rolling Shropshire landscape around it, making it a particularly lovely destination in which to pick out a new piece of jewellery, and we go to great lengths to ensure each of out pieces is every bit as fine as its surroundings.
