Mal entered the jewellery industry over 35 years ago and since then, beautiful jewellery has continued to be a passion of hers. Over the years, her knowledge has grown extensively and she has become a core member of the team. You will recognise Mal for her glamorous sense of style and warm and friendly manner. She’s a welcoming face at County Goldsmiths.
Steve Ellis - Manager
Steve has a long established background in jewellery, with over 30 years customer service experience. Steve is one of the friendliest members of our expanding team, he has a passion for technology which comes through when you talk to him about watches. Steve loves the active lifestyle and can regularly be found running, hill walking and skiing in his spare time.
Catherine Preston - Valuer
Catherine is our resident valuation expert and is also a valuing consultant with 20 years experience in her field. She is accredited and regulated by the Institute of Registered Valuers. She has used her expertise to fulfil another passion of hers; travel… She has been so much in demand that she has moved from continent to continent sharing her wealth of knowledge, passion for the industry and expert skills with various businesses and individuals globally. Lucky for us, she has chosen to settle in Shrewsbury!
Dave Evans
Dave has been in the jewellery industry for over 35 years and has established himself as a highly regarded and trusted jeweler within the local area. He has an extensive knowledge of both new and pre-loved jewellery. Dave’s friendly and welcoming demeanor is apparent as soon as you meet him and he will stop at nothing to get you whatever you require.
Stuart Woodings - Director
A long standing love of history, combined with a deep appreciation of archaeology, to lead owner Stuart into the enchanting world of antique jewellery. In this bejewelled realm, Stuart’s able to put his joint passions for the past; intricate designs; and high quality craftsmanship to good use – and with a keen eye for a piece of real quality and beauty, he stocks the shops with the finest pieces around.
Stuart began his journey into jewellery with a single premises, which he grew, and moulded into the flourishing business that today enjoys the loyalty of so many regular customers. His extensive knowledge and undeniable charm make Stuart the ideal person to guide customers through the various choices available when it comes to picking out a new piece of jewellery.
Ellie McQuade - Goldsmith
Ellie is our resident goldsmith. She is usually busy restoring or designing beautiful pieces above the shop but will always be on hand if you have a question or need some inspiration. She has been working in the jewellery industry for over 15 years having completed her studies with flying colours at Birmingham’s school of jewellery. Ellie not only has a wealth of knowledge about antique and historical pieces, she has a strong eye for innovation and will be equally at home working with you to design a contemporary piece of jewellery or restoring your most treasured piece.
Carla Woodings
Carla is mainly in charge of marketing, websites and advertising.
Rachel Davis
A long standing member of County Goldsmith, Rachel has worked in both County Goldsmiths and sister company Woodings and Co (who specilaise in bridal jewellery), having knowledge of both the old and the new jewellery makes Rachel a valiable member of staff. Rachel has supplied most of Shrewsbury with wedding bands and what she doesnt know about diamonds isnt worth knowing.
